Can't say I have. [ Sure sounded like something he'd do, though. ]
What sorts of bad things, Kazuma?
[Action]
You had kidnapped someone, and caused serious injuries to another in the process. That in turned cause most of the villagers to come after you.
[...] I don't...hear a lot of good things when it comes to "Captain Hazama". I was warned about him, but you're also Terumi to me. [And last he check, Terumi didn't come up as much.] I...I still don't understand how we've managed to be the same person.
[Action]
It's a long, messy history, Kazuma. The kind of story you take in small doses. [ Yeah, he's probably not going to give you the whole story now, much as he likes hearing himself talk. Sorry, kid. ]
Warned about me, huh? By who, exactly? [ He's pointedly ignoring the last bit. ]
[Action]
[...] That's what I don't understand. How have you managed to live for as long as you have? [And still look not a day older]
[Action]
That's the beauty of the egg, Kazuma. Why do you think he eats them all the time? HE HAS DISCOVERED THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH, MANHe has a vague inkling he knows exactly who Kazuma is talking about. Even in his world there were a small handful of do-gooders that would go out of their way to ruin his fun. Honestly, didn't people have lives? ]
That, Kazuma, is a secret. But I'll give you a hint. [ And he leans in, one hand cupped around his mouth conspiratorially. ] It's called taking care of your body. [ And boy, has he sure been taking care of his. ]
A little exercise -- [ Cue flashback to him kicking Ragna's ass atop the NOL. ] -- and good dieting -- [ There's another of him swallowing eggs whole. ] -- go a long way.
[Action]
...Terumi, is it true then, that I'm...the reason we share the same face, is it because you used me as a vessel?
[Action]
[ Ah. Wait. His eyes lit up in recognition, and strings of the last conversation he'd had with Noel Vermillion run through his mind. So she knew...
Well. That definitely made things a lot more interesting. ]
Yes. [ He's not even going to sugarcoat it for you, Kazuma. ] It's true.
Now that you know that, what are you going to do? [ In retrospect, it's not exactly the same as getting his memories back, but it's close enough. ]
[Action]
...Are you asking, because you think I'll turn against you? Against what I've been searching for all my life? [Rather than yell at Terumi, he calmly brings up a different question. He had a look of acceptance, rather than denial. If this was the solution to being whole again, then nothing else mattered to him. That was how he saw it. If he was a vessel, then it only made sense that Terumi had most of his memories.]
Although...I never did fully discover what the Azure was. The books here haven't been any help.
[Action]
That's his boy.
Even if you could turn against him, Kazuma, there were always other ways to get you to see things... his way. ]
I doubt they would have been. Only a handful of people know what the Azure is.
[Action]
You're still not going to tell me, are you? [Knowing what he knew now, was the Azure the key to form the bond between mind and vessel?]
[Action]
It's not exactly something you can explain. Better that I show you, yeah?
[Action]
Can you...? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to. [But he's cuuurious.]
[Action]
A little eager, aren't you? I was thinking maybe later. You know. Nice walk on the beach, a little champagne, a light dinner, I show you the power of the Azure...
[Action]
[Kazuma suddenly has a content looking grin on his face.] It's strange...to be talking with you again after all this time. I've been here for several months now, and the only company I've had from home are people a century ahead of my time.
[And it didn't matter what people said about Hazama, he trusts Terumi.] I'm happy to have someone here that I know now, and that it's you.
[Action]
Well. He wasn't going to complain. This made things a hell of a lot easier for him. ]
Oh, Kazuma. I'm touched, really I am. [ It looked like winning Kazuma's favor was proving to be an easier feat than he'd first thought. But then again, Kazuma was him, so it should be only natural he should be drawn to him. ]
I'd say let's have a big adorable hug, but. Eh. [ He gestures to the suit. ] No.
[Action]
[He never came off as the hugging type to him anyway :|a Well now that much of the tension between them had lessen, Kazuma's going to realize he's tired of standing around and proceed to sit in the chair near his desk, careful not to step on any of the broken glass on the ground. This is going to involve so much cleaning...]
I'm guessing that's what you wear when you're working at the NOL?
[Action]
[ A shrug. Do you really want him to prattle on about his fashion sense, Kazuma? Because he doesn't feel like it.
Life at the NOL certainly hadn't been anything painful, but it had been pretty boring. Sure, orchestrating the different factions against each other, pitting them to murder and kill and hunt each other down like dogs, to turn traitor on their friends ... now that had bee fun. There was no limit to the glee he got from ordering Tsubaku Yayoi to hunt down Noel Vermillion, or ordering Noel to detain Jin Kisaragi. The looks on their faces..! ]
It's an every day suit. I mostly wear it because, hell, it's one of my favorites. [ Idly, he looks over Kazuma's form. He can't see a suit on that body at all. ]
[Action]
[Kazuma didn't seem to mind what little Terumi said or didn't say. The way he was conversation though, it was like he was catching up on things with an old friend.] Must be a lot of work...
[Action]
[ Not that he really minded, but judging from the way the sky was starting to darken, it was fast approaching nighttime. As much as he hated leaving Kazuma in the hands of these cretins, he would have to soon enough.
Really, though, he had nothing to worry about. It sounded like Kazuma had already come to terms with the idea of what he was, and what the nature of their relationship would be. Smart kid. ]
[Action]
I just wanted to know what you've been doing all this time. [Come on man, he doesn't exactly have anyone here from home that actually knows him]
[Action]
I'm a busy man, Kazuma. Detailing my endeavours during the time we've been apart would take a long, long time.
Tell me; how close are you to Noel Vermillion? [ He'd seen your hesitation in naming names, Kazuma, and quite frankly, he doesn't like that very much. ]
[Action]
[Not friends. He felt a little guilty for what had happened yesterday when he lashed out on her, but he still couldn't bring himself to believe she wanted to be friends with him.
Knowing what he did between Terumi and Noel, he'll at least do her the favor of not putting her in harm's way. Sorry Terumi.]
[Action]
I see. [ But he'll let that one slip by for now. He's curious to see how this turns out. ]
Whelp. It's about time I get going. [ Oh, the glass on the floor. Better clean that up. ]
[Action]
I'm sorry if I held you up. [A smile.] You probably don't need to be told this, but be careful while you're here. And next time you plan to visit, I'll make some tea eggs for us. [Kazuma, what-]
[Action]
I'm sure you don't need to be told this either, Kazuma, but try not to let what other people say play too much of a priority in your life. [ Meaning all those do-gooders that managed to get their grubby little hands into him. Yeah, he's looking at you, Noel. ]
After all; they don't really know you, the real you, do they? I'd hate to think that you didn't mean what you said, Kazuma. I don't take rejection well.
