[It's nighttime here in Luceti and it's that time of the month where there was the slow sweep of New feathers showing up all over the place. Kazuma unfortunately wasn't the lucky ones that got dumped randomly around the village, or even in the forest. No, he has been taped onto the ceiling of someone's home.

To make matters worse, been taped above someone's bed. Although he hasn't realized this and is currently fast asleep. The only thing that will get whomever on the bed's attention, is that his journal that will plop right on top of them.]

"EYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--"

"GAHH! What!? Wha--"

[There's sounds of movement and then a thud as the journal falls onto the ground, book facing the floor. There was another scream]

"WHY AM I UP HERE!? AH! What are you--S-Stop!"

[After all hell broke lose at the Straw Hats, Kazuma was sent on his way, a little bruised but for the most part ok. He's wandering aimlessly through the village, unknowingly heading for the plaza a bit shaken and thoroughly confused. He's going to be extremely jumpy with anyone that approaches him after everything that happened at the house.

At some point he discovers the library and just decides to stay there until there is daylight in this place so he can...figure out what's going on. Or maybe there was someone in the library he could ask. Hope it's not too late here...]

No, it's fine. My name is Kazuma, and I appreciate the help you're giving me, Miss Litchi. [he frowns and nods.] Yes, I ah...did. [In the most awkward fashion that he's trying not to think about it right now.]

[Relaxing from her previous guardedness just a bit, she gives him a soft, almost apologetic smile.] The Malnosso are very powerful, capable of bringing people here from different worlds and different times. As far as we've found, there isn't any way out except through them.

[Terumi is just that good. Kazuma just gives her a blank stare.]

Different worlds? Times? [What is this, a fairytale?] How does that...you're not making this up are you?

[She shakes her head.] I'm afraid not. It's... certainly a little complicated, but even if some of us are from the same worlds, we can still be from different time periods. I suppose you could consider it something like an alternate reality.

[Or a continuum shift. Y'know.]

...I realize this can all be very overwhelming. I'm sorry.

I...see. [It's interesting to say the least, if not highly improbable. He wouldn't mind looking into something like this.]

So we're stuck here for an indefinite amount of time. What about yourself, how long have you been here, if ah...I may ask?

[And here's where she feels really bad, because this must sound like funeral bells to a New Feather.]

...I've been here for over a year and a half. Honestly, it isn't all bad here once you've gotten used to it.

[...She feels like she should try to amend this, because it has to sound really steep.] I've known some people who were sent home after only a few months, though. It's all just a matter of time.

That long!? [A few months is still a long time though!!]

I...I can't just stay here. Master Relius, he needs to know where I am at all times. [He is not going to be happy to know he's just up and went missing.]

[That got her attention. Slowly, she's starting to figure this out.]

You... wouldn't happen to mean Relius Clover, would you?

I...yes. [A pause.] He's my guardian. He sent me to study at the Magic Guild and if he finds out I'm not there...

[He doesn't want to think about the what if part of that.] How do you know him...?

[Sheepish laugh. Oh god how to explain. She doesn't know what time he's from, this could be bad.]

Ah... he's... a friend of friends. [This is bending it so far she's not even sure if that counts as a lie or not.] I'm... more familiar with his family.

[If by 'family' we mean his son and daughter/puppet.]

Oh, I...I see... [Hey, he's not one to pry. Maybe he met Litchi once and forgot about her. Who knows. Though knowing she's familiar with him was a little comforting....though when did Relius have family? I mean yea most people do, but he never talks about them to him.]

Did he happen to show up here as well? [Sounding a little hopeful there.]

[Thank heaven he hasn't.]

N-not yet, not that I know of. [And now she's feeling a little bad, because this Hazama-lookalike seems to have gotten his hopes up a bit.] This is around the time we have quite a few new people showing up, so I can't say if he might show up soon or not. It's rather unpredictable.

Really? [Ok, he'll stay hopeful that he could still show up for now.]

I wonder if some of my classmates were brought here too...ah, so you're saying there's actually a designated time when new arrivals come?

Usually, we get a sudden influx at the beginning of every other month. [She frowns thoughtfully.] It hasn't always been on the same schedule, though, so I suppose it's subject to change.

I see...[He smiles faintly. He seems more relaxed talking to Litchi now]

I can't thank you enough for all this information. I'm...not sure what else I should know...I guess I should know where exactly we're suppose to stay while we're here?

There are a few options, actually... There's a Welcome Center here in town that can help out while you're getting on your feet. Although, honestly, any empty apartment is free for you to move into. We don't have any kind of money here, so there's no need to worry about any sort of move-in costs.

[She would offer to put him up at her place if he didn't look so much like Hazama. Her gut feeling is saying he isn't, but there's still reason to be cautious.]

It's free? [Not that Kazuma ever actually had a problem affording things when Relius covered his expenses, but that was still...strange.]

The apartments are all the taller buildings right? [He contemplates about finding a place right now or...stay at the Welcome Center until daylight comes.]

[She gives a small nod.] Completely free. And yes, they're the taller buildings. The last I heard, there are actually quite a few rooms open on the ground floors, if you're looking for something a little easier to move into.

[He glances around. Looks like the closest tall building was CB1.]

I don't really know where I want to stay yet, but any apartments close by will do for tonight.

Yes, I felt the same way when I first arrived. It ended up being a pretty good fit, though.

[Ah, memories. Deciding she'll go ahead and trust her instincts, she gives Kazuma a smile.]
