[It's way late into the night, or way early into the morning, whichever works for you and Kazuma was out of bed and about in House 48. Another sleepless night, they've been getting so frequent. He settled himself in the kitchen, thinking he could make himself some tea, something to eat maybe. He plops both his journals onto the table, thinking he could just write long enough to fall asleep again.

Once he got himself a cup of tea, he seats himself at the table, pressing his hands against the sides of his head. Having these nightmares and hallucinations can leave you with a nasty headache. ]

Is...Is there anyone awake right now? [Please let there someone be awake to talk to, anyone to keep his sanity. He can still faintly hear those voices in the back of his head. A part of him almost wished Terumi was still here, but...they would tell him it's wrong.

"Oh, but I am still here. I'll always be here for you."] ...I just want someone to talk to.

[Someone that's actually there...An idea then pops into his head a few minutes later. Of course he could ask him now. Why didn't he think of him before? Although...he was hesitant about it as it was very late.]

Professor...I'm sorry to bother you at this hour, but I'm having difficulty sleeping...I'm hearing things again.

[Kazuma, you aren't the only one awake at this ungodly hour. Not too long after he settles into the kitchen, Litchi will be padding in quietly, pale and looking quite a bit more haggard than usual. The Boundary has not been quiet ever since everything went back to normal after the experiment, and the nightmares have finally driven her out of bed. Waking isn't too much better, but it's an improvement - especially when she sees she has company in the kitchen.

Being alone right now is far from anything she wants, selfish as it is.

She offers Kazuma a weak smile in greeting.]

Can't sleep either, I take it.

Oh- [Litchi took Kazuma by surprise. He was in the middle of writing something down when she walked out. At first he was going to apologize for waking her up, but her statement and appearance was telling him she was out here because of him.]

No I...I couldn't. Is...are you all right?

I could ask you the same thing.

[It's a bit of a stall. Part of her wants to keep trying to hide what's happening, but she knows she can't hide it much longer. Especially not with someone she lives with. There isn't much time left unless she figures something out. She pauses for a moment, inwardly arguing with herself, before settling on a toned-down version of the truth.]

I'm... well, I'm afraid I'm not feeling all that well. It should pass, soon enough. It usually does.

[...ahah yes, why he was out here.

"Why don't you tell her?" Maybe if she continues to press him.]

Are you coming down with something? Do you want me to make something for it? [He thinks she may just be getting sick, like a fever or something]

[Oh, how she wishes it were that easy...]

Just some tea should help. It... it's something I've been fighting off for some time now. Years, actually. [And haven't found a cure for in over three. Forcing another smile, trying to assuage any worry, she starts to make her way towards the cabinet where she keeps her tea.]

Really, I'll be alright. It's just that some days are a little rougher than others.

[It's rare to hear someone up this late at night, especially when said someone is asking to talk. Luke pauses for a moment, just to listen and see if there's anything else added on, or anyone else talking to him, before he sets aside his own diary to talk to the journal instead.]

Hey, I'm still awake. I know we don't know each other, but...

Years? [He looks concern now, forgetting the mention of tea for the moment.] Miss Litchi...what is it that you have? It's...It's not going to become a threat to your life is it?

[At this point, he probably thinks Litchi might have gotten cancer :|]

Ah, I still appreciate having someone to speak to regardless.

[He can vaguely hear someone cackling and he turns to look and sees no one. A sigh.]

I've been having these headaches...and I think talking to someone might help.

[All this time in Luceti and it's still hard to talk about this. But she can't keep it a secret.]

...I came in far too close contact with the Boundary back home.

[She's sure he has to know what that means. Severe seithr poisoning, at the very least, even if he doesn't know about the timelines intersecting.]

The Malnosso put a stop to the effects of it when I was here before, but... well, unfortunately, that was undone when I was sent back. [re: yes, this will be a threat to her life at some point, somehow.]

[Oh, hey, Shinji remembers that voice.]

[Grune keeps odd hours, waking when she feels like it and sleeping when she's tired. Consequently, tonight, despite the early hour, she's wide awake.

Hearing that frightened voice, there's just no way she can ignore it. Doing so when he so clearly needs a friend would be a very mean thing to do.]

Oh, I'll talk to you. Did you have a bad dream?

[She's usually about to go to bed at this time (sleeping early is a nice habit that she doesn't quite keep to on a regular basis) but a statement like that— well, sleeping could wait another ten minutes. Or so.]

I'm...I just can't sleep. I sometimes have these headaches and they usually keep me up.

I appreciate this. [Seeing a face to a voice really does wonders]

I did, and I woke up with a headache afterwards...now I can't get back to sleep because of it.

I- [There's a pause as Kazuma glances off to one side.

...No, I'm just hearing things again. Focus on the person in the journal.]

Do you know any good remedies for headaches...? [It's...not exactly what he was dealing with, but he's not exactly comfortable mentioning he hears voices]

My, that's too bad. Do you need an apple gel?

[What do you mean this medicine isn't universal.]

The Boundary? [He's heard the term before from the Professor and in his studies. Aware of how risky it is to be anywhere near the Boundary, Litchi's condition really worries him now. He stands, moving closer to her.]

Why were you anywhere near the Boundary in the first place? I don't know the exact cause of being in close contact with the Boundary, but...I know enough that a person's condition only gets worse overtime.

An...what is an apple gel?

... I used to have a lot of headaches. [And also voices, but he won't be getting into that. No need to have the other person think he's crazy.] So what did you want to talk about?

It's something of a long story how I ended up near it, but... to cut it short, I was trying to save a very dear friend. I couldn't think of any other way to help him.

[Although obtaining the same power that destroyed him may not have been the best course of action.]

As for the effects... well, they're a little difficult to explain. It breaks down the body and the mind both. [Struggling to put on an optimistic face, she gives a ghost of a smile.] But it's slowed down quite some bit here. I should have more than enough time to find a cure.

[A frown. Clearly Litchi's response wasn't good enough for Kazuma] Can't you ask the Malnosso to stop it again? Or I can get the Professor...! Professor Relius, he arrived last month and I think he's familiar with the Boundary and might be able to help you.

[If only they both knew] Do you know any good remedies for them? [Except he's sure nothing can be done for voices in your head syndrome]

And...anything really. I just need something to keep my mind off of things.

Headaches? Have you tried anything to get rid of them?

It's kind of a condition I have to live with.
